Little Creek Critters Adventurer Club

Club Director Audree Curry

Adventurer Schedule

About Us

The Adventurer Club is a Seventh-day Adventist Church-sponsored ministry open to all families of children in grades prek-4. Our mission is to support parents and caregivers in leading and encouraging their children in a growing, joyful love relationship with Jesus Christ.
The first few years of a child’s life sets the stage for their future.  For parents/families of pre-K through fourth grade children, our Adventurer Clubs provide a safe place to encourage the development of the necessary social and interpersonal skills they need, in an environment that promotes Christian values and responsibilities.
Families will learn a variety of topics together, from character building, nature, hobbies, safety, and much more. This club also has parenting tips and resources through the family network and is designed to help you be the best parent/caregiver you can be as you partner with your child and other families to grow your kids to be the best they can be. Our club work’s to meet twice a month.

  • Little Lamb: Pre-K
  • Eager Beaver: Kindergarten
  • Busy Bee: 1st Grade
  • Sunbeam: 2nd Grade
  • Builder: 3rd Grade
  • Helping Hand: 4th Grade

Objectives

The Adventurer Club provides fun and creative ways for children.
  • to develop a Christ-like character;
  • to experience the joy and satisfaction of doing things well;
  • to express their love for Jesus in a natural way;
  • to learn good sportsmanship and strengthen their ability to get along with others;
  • to discover their God-given abilities and to know how to use them to benefit self and serve others,
  • to improve their understanding of what makes families strong.

What is the Adventurer curriculum designed to accomplish?

  1. Children will, at their own level, commit their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ.
  2. Children will gain a positive attitude toward the benefits, joys, and responsibilities of living a Christian life.
  3. Children will acquire the habits, skills and knowledge needed to live for Jesus today.
  4. Parents and other primary care-givers will become more confident and effective as co-laborers with Christ for their children.

The Uniqueness of the Adventurer Club

The Adventurer Club was created to give children an opportunity to belong to an organized peer group. To join, children are invited to paticipate in various activities which will improve their social skills. From the time children start school until they reach puberty, their need to be with and be accepted by their peer group is increasingly strong.
The Adventurer Club involves children in prek-4th grade and their parents. The programming and planning for Adventurers should be simple and short, but creative. Parental involvement provides opportunities for parents to participate in the learning experience.
One of the Adventurer Club objectives is to provide a meaningful and exciting experience as the children look forward with anticipation to some day being Pathfinders.

We also participate in a service project and/or a fun club outing once a month.  There is also a camping, Adventurer Fun Day, and an Induction (opening) and Investiture (graduation) ceremony.

WHAT TO WEAR?

The uniform makes the Adventurer Club real to its members.  The uniform becomes an emblem of a standard, builds loyalty to the club, and brings members into a sense of community.  The uniform should always be neat, clean, and worn with pride.

Two styles of uniform will be used at various times:

  1. Club t-shirts (field uniform) will be used most of the time for club meetings, field trips, and other club activities.
  2. A full dress uniform (Class A uniform) will be worn for special occasions and designated service projects. (Please note: some portions of the full dress uniform are not included in the registration fee i.e. socks/shoes.)
